Course Location

The course is planned to be face-to-face at Université de Nantes. The face to face format is subject to changes in the health situation and government measures. Our Centre reserves the right to transform the courses into distance learning.


French version

Are you interested in discovering the French language and culture, updating your knowledge, improving your oral communication and written expression skills?

Would you like to improve your mastery of the French language as part of a study continuation project in a French school or university?

These courses offer intensive, rigourous and interactive learning adapted to your needs, with a team of experienced teachers who will allow you to work on your oral and written skills. The programme is organised around the criteria found in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEF).



Prerequisites training

The Summer Courses is open to candidates over 18 years old.
No diploma is required.
These courses are not suitable for total beginners (minimum level A2 required)
A placement test will place the participant in a suitable level group.
The registration for Campus Été does not give access to a student VISA.

The course is delivered in three levels: elementary (A), intermediate (B) and advanced (C).

Students take an online placement test and an oral interview in order to place each student in one of the three level groups.
In order to ensure a high quality of teaching that encourages exchange and communication, our centre welcomes a maximum of 20 participants per group.

Our courses are built in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Learning objectives and contents

The content is adapted according to the level of competence and the needs of the participants.

The lessons will enable you to understand the written and oral functioning of the French language, through grammar and vocabulary lessons. You will learn to write different types of documents through class work and homework assignments corrected in class. These courses place great emphasis on oral expression and vocabulary acquisition.

From level B1 onwards, you can choose French for Academic Purposes in order to facilitate your integration into university and student life. Finally, these courses develop the cultural and intercultural skills essential for a complete learning of the French language and civilisation.

Free time is provided for you to enrol in complementary activities according to our programme: individual tutoring, cultural events and workshops.


The course runs from Monday 7 June to Friday 25 June 2021.
A Welcome morning and presentation of the objectives of the course is proposed on Monday, 7 June. During this morning, the participants will be take and individuel speaking test with a teacher.

In addition

For the duration of the course, it is possible to benefit from a University Library card (on registration) valid at the Language Resource Centre (large choice of works in French as a Foreign Language) and in all the libraries of the University of Nantes.

Full time

The intensive Summer Campus course lasts 60 hours in total, spread over 3 weeks at a rate of 20 hours per week.
The lessons take place from Monday to Friday, from 9.30 am to 4 pm (lunch break 12-1.30 pm).
Except for the first week, Wednesday and Friday afternoons are free.

*If you are sponsored by public fund, please ask for a quotation to in addition to your registration with simplified procedures. The fees include taking a mandatory official test (CPF Code 235554 Test Bright)

The fee corresponds to 60 hours of tuition per semester and is non-refundable. The registration are valid for acceptance of the General terms and sales conditions.

Courses are open within the limit of available seats and subject to a minimum number of participants.
